ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Art can serve as a powerful tool for storytelling, dialogue, and fostering connection. Through this 2-week exhibition, Dear Future YEG aimed to reduce barriers to entry for communities that have historically been excluded from artistic spaces.
Love Letters to YEG was a youth-led art exhibition showcasing Edmonton through the eyes of 15 emerging youth artists from racialized backgrounds. We explored community wellness and resilience through poetry, visual art, digital art, photography, mixed media, textile, and sculpture.
Through arts-based storytelling and civic engagement, Love Letters to YEG created an accessible, safe, supportive, and inclusive space for diverse youth to tell their stories on their own terms.
